Desktop companion robot
A little friend that lives on your desk.
Maylo watches you, listens, talks back, and gets sleepy when you leave.
Move your mouse. Then click him.
What he does
Maylo has two servos, a screen for a face, a microphone and a speaker. That's enough to have a lot of personality.
-
Talks with you
Hold his shoulder and ask him anything. He thinks, gets an idea, then answers out loud.
-
Loves a pet
Tap his head and he wiggles. Pet him a few times in a row and his eyes turn into hearts.
-
Shows how he feels
Happy, sad, angry, surprised or in love. His eyes, head and arms all show it.
-
Has his own day
He looks around, blinks and yawns. Leave him alone for 5 minutes and he falls asleep.
-
Says when something's wrong
Touch his hands to see his battery and Wi-Fi. When he can't reach his brain, he shows a red Wi-Fi sign.
Made at home, part by part
Every part of Maylo is printed, soldered and coded by hand. The body is designed so his head stops 2 mm from his body when he tilts all the way.
His thinking happens on his own server: the robot sends what it hears, and gets back the words and the voice.

The simulator runs in your browser. It uses the same servo limits as the real Maylo, so what you see is what they can really do. Pick their colors, pet them, and talk to them.
